Elddis caravan

We have been caravaning for many years now’s and owed a few caravans in our time new and older ones we are now on our Elddis Sherwood 860 a dealer special the dealer is not the issue it’s the caravan that’s the issue it cost us in excess off 32k back in April 2023 after ordering at the Show in October 2022 we have had many problems with this van from badly fitting door to broken blinds water pump issue and damp that was found at its 1st and 2nd service we are now coming up to it’s 3rd service and guess what we have more water ingress this time through the cupboards in the bedroom and a straight line across the back of the van where there’s a seam or join on the roof our back locker was completely soaking wet inside too this and all vans are supposed to be used all year round we would be lucky If we could use this van at never would we buy another Elddis caravan and when you contact Elddis they ither don’t respond or tell you to get in touch with dealer they don’t seem to care they have sold a van and got there money

It's the dealer who sold it to you, not a different dealer who may service it, that you'll need to lean on, as that's where your legal rights are under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (CRA) - don't get fobbed off by manufacturer's warranty, CRA overrides it.

As others have said, Contract is with the selling dealer, if they have been taken over then that responsibility has also been taken over. Dont let them tell you anything to contrary.

If you bought the caravan using a dealership loan you have protection from the finance house. I strongly advise that you talk to Which Legal Services whose initial consultation is free. Thereafter you can pay for a subscription at around £90-100pa and they will guide you throughout using CRA2015. But you will need to make up your mind if you want to retain the caravan or reject it. Me I’d go for the latter given its history. Not a time to let heart rule the head.
