“ Is this good news for the caravan industry” an earlier thread picked up on the closure. Not good news though for the workers at Eldiss, but for quite a while now there have been reports of problems, unsold caravans etc so it hasn’t come as a major surprise. Pity as I had hopes that Hymer could improve the company’s products and standing.
I honestly think if Hymer had been in charge, then things might have changed, but for me there was always something fishy about the Elldis take over. These sorts of take overs are usually months in the making execution, often behind closed doors. Realistically 9 to 12 months if all goes well. So the fact that Hymer was bought out by Thor Industries just a few months later, the two transactions must have overlapped, I suspect Thor was behind the whole thing and pulling the strings.“ Is this good news for the caravan industry” an earlier thread picked up on the closure.
