Electric hookup question

I have now purchased a caravan hookup cable for the electrics to the unit, however while clearing out my camping stuff i have a Tent power hookup cable (i.e plug sockets at one end).

before i decide to sell it i wonder if i can use this to power appliances to the awning whilst also using my caravan hookup, i have tried searching sites for a guide on how many power hookups you can use at any one time but to no avail,...

Just wondered what others do (obviously i am guessing if the posts have enough sockets etc then yes but do sites generally look to charge extra?)

Sites only allocate one hookup per pitch. If you want power in the awning then you will need to feed from an internal 13amp outlet or one on the side of the van if provided.

Many thanks, i did suspect that would be the case, the unit doesn't have an external plug so i guess i will have to run an extension from the caravan.

Why not keep it, change the socket to a plug and use as the extension?
Some I have seen have an RCD built in Has yours? If so even better.
You mention in your first post "to Power Appliances" dont forget you will still be restricted to the Amps on offer from the site.

hi i am in a site at the moment that has two hook up points and a water connection for my pitch there is a van next to me and he is plugged into his, so i assume it has two per pitch ?

Are you sure it is not one for you and one for the caravan next to you on the other side of youto your neighbour who is plugged in. Similarly one for the plugged in neighbour and one for the person on the other side of him.

Simple answer is ask the site operator not us.

I cannot see the operator giving you two plugs. Possibly the operator has bought standard posts for the whole site which might have been cheaper. No caravan that I know of has the facility to use two hook ups so I doubt you are expected to need or use two.
Might be interesting to know what the site says.
