Hi, Can anybody help me? I have an old fridge that has been donated to me. Its an Electrolux RA 212F (Product No 9265982) Im guessing it's pretty old because it's the orangy colour they used to make them in. I want to put it in my caravan (which doesn't have electric hook up)and run it off either bottled gas, or a leisure battery. But, I'm not sure if it's able to do that, it might only be mains operated. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to check! Does anyone know about this fridge, or can they give me advise on how to check.

Many thanks,

Vicki

RA or RM? an RM212 A B or F is late 70's through the early 90's and definitely 3 way.

RA seems to ring a bell though and might indeed be 240v only, clue will be the lack of a brass gas valve on the left hand side and a steel gas pipe leading to the bottom of the flue pipe.

As far as I know, A is Aluminium, B is very dark Brown, F is Fawn! but all just relates to the colour of the Fascia and door surround. However, it also gives a guide to it's age, F was last and dates it to the later 80's into the early 90's

In all other respects there the same but the older they get the more orange the interior tends to get!

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply. It is definitely RA. I don't have the fridge at home with me, but will check asap to see if I can see the parts you mentioned. Should it have a switch on the front to change from electric to gas to battery aswell??

Thanks,

Vicki

Whichever it is, it won't run off the leisure battery!

The 12v operation takes current from the car alternator during towing only.

Hi, The fridge you refer to according to my drawing is mains only. the drawing shows no gas input or 12 volt element present.
