Electrolux are to close their factory at Spennymoor which builds cookers for the UK and Irish market. They are tranferring production to (wait for it) Poland.

Poland who have a labour shortage, because they are all over here, are now having to allow migrants from Romania and Albania to fill the jobs. They will build the cookers at a Polish factory and then ship them from Poland to the UK.

Please remember this when looking to buy a new cooker :)

Thank you.

If you take that attitude, you would never buy anything. In my area alone we've lost Vauxhall, SKF bearings, Electrolux, Chrysler Cars, to name just a few of the bigger names that have packed up and moved abroad for more profitable plants in underdeveloped countries. as all of the above were foreign owned, we should not really be surprised. But don't forget the most hypocritical of them all Dyson,

Steve,

you must also be from the Luton area. I was one of those unfortunate souls who worked for Vauxhall but transferred across the wall to the van plant when it shut. We produce vans for Renault, Nissan & Opel for export and the domestic market, so it's not all doom & gloom .......though like the rest of British manufacturing, we don't know how long it will last.

The thing that gets me, PEOPLE STILL VOTE LABOUR!!
