So we use both pink and blue in the toilet. I empty the cassette every day so we use much more blue than pink. Often they seem to sell them as a pair. Is there any reason I couldn't use the pink in both the cistern and the cassette as I have a lot of pink! Thanks.

They do very different jobs. Pink wonk kill off the bugs that generate the smell from the cassette. You need blue or green to do that. Why not just by blue (or green) on its own? We get ours from Aldi - it works great.

Some toilet chemicals are designed for use in both, Fenwick's Top n Tail for instance

Indeed - but pink and blue sold together are not designed to be interchangeable. Just using pink for the blue purpose wont achieve what blue is supposed to do. I think the OP needs to buy some more cassette focused fluid (of whatever type).

I finished up using OneChem or Unochem from Blue Diamond and suitable for use in both tanks, and neat little measure within bottle. As I changed the cassette fluid each day I did not use the recommended amount given that few if any fluids do the business within 24 hours. It is blue in colour but okay for septic tanks etc.

Aldi/Lidl biological washing liquid, works just fine in the cassette for a fraction of the cost of the blue stuff.
Never bothered with the pink stuff as many seem to suffer from black algae growth in the flush tank that clogs the pump. I don't use an additive in my flush cistern at home either.

Possibly out of date (20 years since we camped with portaloo) but we used Organic Green (forget the make) and it went in flush and waste
