electronic igniter on cooker

On my 2005 bailey pageant the electric lighting mechanism on the cooker has stopped working is there a battery like the one`s at home to make this work ? or has something else gone wrong ? it`s been working fine then nothing ? Any help would be greatly appreciated

What make of cooker is it? and model?

In all probability it is the spark generator that has failed and needs the cooker removing to access it, so a suitably qualified gas engineer is required.

Robert,

Exactly the same happened to our Bailey Senator S5, i mentioned it when i booked it in for it's annual service and it was fixed no problem as it was covered under warranty. We've never had a problem since.

As Damian says, I would leave it to the experts!

Hi Robert

We had similar problem, if you can get to the back of the igniter switch, you should find 2 terminals, on our cooker they were just a push fit and had white powder corrosion, once they were cleaned it was OK. Failing that if it is a Stoves cooker they have mobile technicians that will come to you to fix it.

if it is a STOVES cooker, nothing will work unless the top glass lid is up. so if it isn't working on the oven or grill, the lid has to be up. if it won't light the burners, get it checked out immediatly.
