Hello Tony,

Are you new to the forum? If so welcome, but could you not use the caps lock as all capitols actually makes it harder to read, and it looks like you are shouting.

My sources put the Superstorm at 1900Kg max weight. This is a big caravan. Technically there are several vehicles that are rated by their manufactures to be able to tow such a large caravan, including some large( and usually expensive) saloon cars, but a larger vehicle with lots of torque will probably make the job easier.

The 2.9 Sedona is a strong proposition, as is the Sorento which is more akin to your friends Frontera.

Ultimately it is down to finding any vehicle that is rated by its manufacture to pull such a large trailer, and finding the balance of other features your friend needs or wants.

It is also important to point out that as the combined masses of the car and caravan are likely to be in excess of 3500Kg, your friend must have driving licence categories of B+E. If he (she) passed their test after Jan 1997, they will only have cat B, which limits the train weight to 3500 and the trailer must not be more than the kerbweight of the tow car.

As ever do not rely on information from third party sites such as this to be accurate. Always check the details with the relevant handbooks for the car and trailer or get details form your dealer or manufacturer.
