Hi

We had a look round Lowdhams today as I wanted to look at the eribas. Can anyone tell me why they are so expensive? The one I looked at was £12,500 or thereabouts. No cooker, but hob, small bathroom, no shower. Hardly any fitments inside. But I note that they are quite heavy for their size.

I just wondered, that's all.

If you talk to Peter L there he will tell you all, we have wanted a Hymer for a while and almost bought one privately, but it had not been brought up to UK specs, it would have been a diaster, and very expensive to bring up to specs, we were lucky we had done our homework, the Hymers are exceptional vans and well built, we travel all year, do your homework, look at all the pros and cons then decide if it's what you want.

Hi,

What you are paying for with an Eriba is qaulity. There are still many 40 year old examples on the road. The key difference to standard caravans is the structure. Instead of a soft wood box the Eriba is contructed from a tubular steel frame - it has more in commom with aircraft contruction than caravan. Like all things in life - you get what you pay for. Eriba = Qaulity.
