Eurotunnel and LPG check

I am taking the van to France for the 1st time in a couple of weeks and I read this on the Eurotunnel web site.

"We are aware LPG tanks are essential for cooking, refrigeration, heating etc, but request the appliance is switched off before boarding and during the entire crossing. Tanks up to 47kg may be carried, but must be less than 80% full. For your own safety and the safety of others, you will need to demonstrate this before you travel."

My question is how do I demonstrate this? and do the actually check. I got a refill ready for the holiday, do I need to vent some? Any help would be most appreciated.

Don't worry about it. They will probably check that your bottle is turned off but that's all.

I've been through the tunnel loads of times and that's all they have ever done.

Yes, I agree with Jaffa's Dad. It's one of those stupid regulations that are virtually unenforceable because there is no easy or quick way, short of removing and weighing, to prove that the tank is less than 80% full.

I don't think Eurotunnel are concerned about the likes of Calor Gas cylinders as commercially filled and distributed cylinders are only ever filled to 80% capacity. Its the self fill ones they are concerned about and they may take more care in checking these.
