Extra charges

I get a bit miffed when campsites charge for an awning and then charge for an annexe too. We bought the annexe to put the dogs in, so we pay per night per dog plus a charge for the annexe too. It's true about the dog bins, I've only ever stopped on one site where they've had dog bins.

Although, having said all that, we vote with our feet now.

I was thinking about this topic yesterday. Charging for extra people is fine - more family = more electric etc. Dogs need cleaning up after too, not a pleasant job. What I don't understand is the awning charge, after all you're not taking up any more space, the area covered by the awning doesn't take any extra care (or at least doesn't get it!)Maybe some site operators somewhere would like to explain?

Having seen the state of the grass after some people have left I can understand why. Some pitches can't be used for several days until the grass recovers.

The minute I see "extra charges" when perusing a sites info, I look no further. If we all vote with wallet and go elsewhere, then this practice may die out...maybe not, but I avoid any sites that price like that

The post refers to hardstanding pitches. I don't think you can damage hardstandingg with an awning. ๐Ÿ™‚
