Hi Jo-anne

Both are lovely sites . Countryside is pretty . Broadway area probably more expensive for eating out but very quaint. Broadway is just up the road well 30 mins or so . Not quite far enough for a "I've got away from it all " break for us. It does get busy in the spring summer being in the heart of the Cotswolds.

Why not try a weekend at each of them. Neither are far from you.

Cheers

Blackmore for me. Prettier countryside. BUT there is absolutely nothing wrong with the other two.

Haven't done somerset , usually end up at Lynton N Devon.

Hi Jo-anne

Not done Ramslade.

Did have agood look at Hillhead Brixham a few years ago but couldn't get in, fully booked. Great site for families.

Regularly go to Trewethett Farm Tintagel, v good facilities and walks and sunsets to die for. Can get windy on the cliff top but never bothered us.

Last year we had a look at St Agnes Head. Very pretty spot but isolated. Trevedra Farm down at Lands End is on our possible list but not stayed there.

As much as we try for CC sites I do use commercial ones as well.

St Ives is a lovely part of Cornwall and travel over the whole of Cornwall is easy. Thus we always try and stay at Polmanter on a fully serviced pitch. Lazy? Yes , but we do use sites without facilities too. We just spoil ourselves at Polmanter and enjoy their pool, bar and restaurant. Excellent facilities too.

Chers

Hi Jo-anne

Soory can't help you. We never went that far north in Cornwall. Mostly we like the Lizard & Mullion end plus of course Trewethett Farm, Tintagel. Most of the CC sites are shown on the web with 360 deg vids. Have you sen these?

When I get down there in may I was going to have a look at Threeways at Marazion . I'll try and have a look at the two you mention.

Cheers

Hi Jo-anne

You'll enjoy Carnon Downs. We also have a day in Truro and enjoy all the outside cafe's and cathedral etc. Plus we love all the Poldark stuff.

However I am afraid St Ives and surrounding area is our favourite , hence Polmanter. Plus we get lazy because it is one of the few sites where we have a fully serviced pitch. That means Terri tends to shower in the caravan!! And I don't have to kep filling up the aquaroll.

Just for the purists out there we also go rough and stay on sites with no toilet / shower facilities, eg Grummore at Altnahara and Low Moor near Whitby.

There's agreat dog walk from Polmanter into St Ives itself, the dogs love it. The bonus is there is a little bus that takes back up the mega climb direct to Polmanter site.

Tintagel, Trewethett Farm is beautiful, can be a bit windy sometimes but the scenery is Cornwall at its best.

We'll be at Polmanter and Trewethett Farm first two weeks of may. When are you going?

Maybe a chance of us all meeting up for a beer or whatever??

Cheers

Hi Jo-anne,

Whoops , missed your last post.

Trewethett Farm has an excellent modern toilet block, usual CC high standard , plus at peak periods they open up a mobile facility by the north field. The North Cornwall coast path is literally on your doorstep. Apart from lovely walks to Tintagel and Boscastle ( a bus will take you back later if you're knackered)Padstow , Rock, Port Isaac , Wadebridge and the Camel Trail are all worth a day out. There's loads more too.

They have a specific play area for ball games.

Have a look at the CC website for pics etc.

Now then Jo-anne when can we expect your guide to uk campsites?? I can't wait!

Cheers

not much really take the kids out, go sight seeing and wipe the windows with lots of kitchen roll everyday. that takes up most of my time and money.
