Andrew - you do not have to take your van back to Discover for warrenty work. It is possible to take your van to ANY registered service company for either body or mechanical work as long as they are registered with the Caravan Council. We have a Bailey van just over 12 months old and we have the servicing and all other work done at Caravanmaster South Wales in Pontyclun. They offer a first class service and not so far to tow the van. Workshop on new development just before getting to L'Oriel factory from Llanharen. Tel: (01443) 449973 - Byron Port. They were recommended to us and apart from being a satisfied customer we have no interest in the business at all. Good luck with your endevours.

Hi Colin,

Thanks for this very valuable information. Pontyclun is far more appealing than the dreaded trek to Newport!

The reason I took my caravan (Bailey Ranger 470/4 2005) back to Discover Leisure was purely due to the fact that the caravan was still under their 'used caravan warranty' (I purchased it second hand from them in 2007).

The replacement front panel is required due to penetration of a currugated steel roofing sheet that flew from a neighbours garage roof in high winds on may bank holiday. The total cost is a substantial

Hi Andrew

I'm confused, you said Quote "your taking it back to Discover Leisure Newport because you bought the caravan there and it still had their used caravan warranty" however you are not using that warranty you are claiming on the insurance?

Andrew as the claim for damage is being met by the insurance company again you can take it where you so wish as long as the repairers are recognised by the insurance company. Caravanmaster undertake body work on caravans and what I have seen of it they appear to do an excellent job. Thankfully I have not required any body work attention to my van as yet.

Sorry, I should have explained myself a little better.

The van was scheduled to have some minor warranty work so I arranged an estimate to be done at the same time.

Update - I have received a telephone call from Discover and the van is now due to go in at the end of October; despite them confirming that the panel had been delivered to them on August 1st!.
