Ally this is the only campsite I am aware of in the Falkirk area. This area being a more industrial spot rather than senic. Unless you have some urgent desire to be near to Falkirk There is a site at Fishcross that I think is run under management for the CC or there is a very good site at Stirling. This would be about a 20-30 minute drive from Falkirk.

Ally,

Beecraigs was refurbished recently after a big fire.We went along for a look.....it is very near to Linlithgow.

The toilet facilities seemed to be good but......the pitches are amongst very tall trees so not a lot of sunshine gets through. We decided it wasn't for us but couldn't fault the site.

this site is called the woods but be aware the management are a bit strange and one of the wardens is very rude and always drunk

Beecraigs is a lovely site but up a very steep windy road that is not for the faint hearted or anxious newbie! I am from this area originally and there are lots of great shopping areas around there plus some great things to do and see.

I don't know of any other sites around there except for in Stirling or the Linnwater one in West Lothian, Beecraigs is prob the closest to falkirk.

hi ally ,

beecraigs is bad for the midges as it is among the trees but it has a fantastic resturant at its gate, it does have a steep hill to conquer no matter what way you are approaching it,

linwater is at east calder you would need to get to the m9 then over to falkirk but a nice wee site.

my caravan is on seasonal at a smallish site near stirling .it is only 2 miles of the m9 and 10 minutes along it is falkirk.

our site is off the denny road at the big roundabout for the services it is a basic site no club or shop but stirling and falkirk are so close anyway oooh the site name is auchenbowie caravan park.

i stay in livingston which is half way betwen beecraigs and linwater about 10 miles either way.

myra

Hi Ally,

Have stayed on the Woods (CC Affilated Site) at Fishcross 2 weeks ago. 95% of pitches are large hardstanding with tv booster points and a number of serviced pitches. Seems to be a large number of seasonal pitches as the site was very busy at weekends. 2 toilet blocks both to high standards and a childrens play area with views to the Ochil hills. The site is now open all year.

As another post stated Falkirk is not far away.

Ah well folks I'm now at Beecraigs via vodafone internet. For info the site is very clean and stances are hard standing. The trees are an obstacle as are the pine needles, but its serving our purpose but the sun is closed out a bit, geat for the dog

thanks
