Brian the vast majority of sites take couples with children.

Pete, why do you display such nasty paranoia against adult only sites when they are so in the minority?

When you take the number of sites that there are in the UK, the number of adult only sites can almost be counted on one hand. There's NOTHING wrong with them - in fact they're usually in beautiful condition - nor is there anything wrong with the people that use them! It always reads like sour grapes to me 'cos your not in a position to use them.

Vic, there are many places that don't exlude people because of race or religion; this doesn't mean it's OK to have racist clubs etc. It's exactly the same to exlude people from a family past-time because of age. If you don't like people, don't go camping. I've had many people driving their cars through our pitch to go to the toilet because it's raining, my kids can see that this is a minority of adult car drivers and so we will not be looking for sites with a ban on car driving adults. If they can be that grown up and inclusive, why do some adults think they have more rights than my children? Your right on one thing, it is sour grapes, that I'm exluded from a site full of smug people on a site with nothing to do but tut at how nasty children are, oh, I think I'm cured!

All previous correspondence seem to be missing one important point - we may now be adults but at one time we were children. I don't understand this attitude regarding sites with children or adult only sites. As stated by Brian, what influences me is the site, location, cleanliness, whats on offer, etc. So what if there are children around - live and let live. We often take our grand children with us and they are well behaved but mix socially with other children on the site with no problems. Aa previosly mentioned on many other topics we reularly visit Widend in Paignton where there are both children and dogs on site. The site is run very well and all visitors are family orientated and respect each others space and privacy if required. We have never experienced any problems there in all the years we have visited the site.

Brian,

Seemed to have opened a whole can of worms, and in your case hit a raw nerve. I have no problems with children enjoying themselves, having a daughter of my own and who is also now expecting our first grandchild. We have taken our daughter camping and caravaning in her younger days and we will take our grandchild in the future. If I hated children that much would I be working in a School? It is a matter of choice. My wife and I have visit all types of sites in this country and abroad, on occasions we feel that a holiday without children would be nice, we are not being discriminate. I feel some of your comments petty and distasteful.

john, i don't recall making petty and distasteful comments, nor did i make comments eg suggesting peoples roles in the education system. perhaps the moderator could remove those 2 comments of yours as i find them out of order. i only asked if there are sites that only allow vanners with children.
