I had the same problem with mine on a Volvo Estate after it

had been driven under overhanging shrubbery. I extended the

aerial then straightened in by hand, section by section, then

used generous amounts of WD 40. Tedious but it worked.
 
That's exactly what I've done Mike. It works OK, but I'll retract it next time I use "Idiot Ferries Ltd".
