You probably know CCC -Carry on Camping -Caravan and Camping Community forum closes soon. See their site now and you wonder why PCV forum gives you no where near the same amount of information and data!

. I had hoped when the new forum was being designed some cognisance of forum like CCC would be taken into account. Sadly that wasn't the case .
Maybe it's not too late for Lord Hezza's boys to consider purchasing the CCC site and using it as PCV.

It depends on the type of information being sought. True we don't keep detailed records of everything that happens on here but the amount of information about caravans and the issues surrounding our hobby is what matters most and so it could be argued that the amount of important information is as good as if not better than many other caravan forums.
There's not much point in 'awarding' little symbols to signify the number of posts that a member has submitted to the forum if a high percentage of this number consists of little more than smileys or they relate to answers given in 'two word' games or suchlike.
Other forums must do as they see fit, we prefer the quality of forum content to be more important than the quantity

I reckon Zafiral must be 'the oldest' - 2001 - that's a lot of contributions since then. I noticed his post a few days ago and thought he'd been around a very long time! AND Dustydog's been around longer than Parksy!

Don't know the exact date it started but I'm sure it was going pre 2000.
I can remember when it was moderated in a way that your post was checked by some unknown person before it even appeared on the forum. It could be a couple of days between submitting your post and it actually appearing especially over a weekend. Led to some right jumbled up answers and threads.
I think the 2001 and 2005 dates are when it changed format slightly in regards to the moderating or re-registering members, anyone who was a member at that time shows as joining on the same date ( I think!)
Anyone else remember that way of moderating?
I can also remember loads of members saying "we don't need moderators on a caravan forum, we're all mature adults, why would we need moderators"........... to prevent world war 3 perhaps.

Right, thanks Robert. That does perhaps explain why several members have the same 'joining' date, i.e. 14 March 2005. No moderators? Now that would be funny......or perhaps not!! The forum would be made up of threads like the 'Snaking' and 'Movers' ones, that would drag on and on and go round in circles forevermore!

Which reminds me , if any F1 teams are looking for a new car for the 2011 season my 1997 Ford Maverick is for sale .

Hi Nigel, the cars not really for sale,it's one of the family ;O)

It's a 1997 Ford Maverick 2.7tdi GLS LWB bought in 1999 to replace another Maverick. I tow a lot of caravans with it as I work for a dealer selling Bailey and Adria as well as my own twin axle weighing 1650 kg. It's also used for offroading as you can see from my pic and has no problems towing my Series Landrover on a trailer weighing around 2400kg.

I'll tell the owners club about the feature ,might boost you sales ;O)

Are you at the NEC? I'll be on the Adria stand,
