Farm / CL Sites in the North West.

Hi..... We are looking for some reasonably cheep local CL or farm caravan sites. We are C&CC members and have explored most of the local sites. We have found a few hidden gems but would like to add a few more to that list. They need to take dogs and have electric. Ideally looking for cheep weekends away that is not too far to travel on a Friday after work. We are Manchester based so looking for sites in Lancashire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, N Wales etc etc

hi lewis. One we have used quite often is Moss House farm, Wrightington, near Standish. Pleasant little independent site, with very friendly, helpful owners. I can't find the contact just now, but I'll post it later!

You could try googling campsites at Wrightington.

I just googled Moss House. It came up on UK camping, with excellent reviews. 01257 421869.But keep it quiet, or everyone will want to go!

Apology accepted Lewis, but there are a number of people on this and other forums who do not even aknowledge replies, and I'm afraid I lumped you in with them!

This place is very nice (Before we stopped touring we also enjoying this small site and the reviews are good) but keep it quite (emmerson) he is so right .

While at Moss Farm if you go a little north to Eccleston you should find a pub once the Farmers Arms now the Bradley Wiggins.
Others in the area which used to be pretty good include another Farmers arms to the north of eccleston, The Eagle and Child in Bispham Green and the High Moor on the road between Robin Hill and Bispham. The Stocks in Parbold used to be OK too. (caveat emptor - it's a few years since I lived there) Oh and the Bispham is not the one near Fleetwood.
