If you had to pick 3 sites which will they be? I really like 2, Perth ( Scone) and Speyside near Aberlour. Reason being Perth is easy to get to for me, about 2 hours, and Speyside which is further up but a great location for my fishing. Must admit I have not went south of the Borders much, twice to Dunstan Hill near Alnwick. Puts me off travelling south with all that traffic, much prefer to stay North. I only use club sites as I am a tight Scot. What are your top 3? And please dont let Fred in!

I'm an even tighter Sassenach so won't use club sites!

Our 3 favourites are CLs in Norfolk and Northumberland plus the commercial at Scourie in Sutherland

We use the CAMC sites with the exception of Blair Drummond at Stirling which is a nice site and a good base. We often use it as an overnight stay on the way further south

Yellow Craig at North Berwick is good.

Bunree at Fort William had just opened up again. Don't care for Fort William but the site is a convenient place to be if you want to go out and about. Glen Coe, Arisaig etc

Markinch...not a great site because it has lots of trees and small pitches but if you book one on grass it's ok. Again a good starting off point to explore slightly further afield.

We're trying Melrose in April for the first time.

We like River Breamish a lot because they take tents and our daughter, grandson and dog come up there with us. Good dog walk and play field.

We've tried further south but never again. Northumberland is as far as we'll go now.

Difficult call, three very different sites:

Helford River Camping
Great Pasty shop opposite

Domo Oswestry
Great views and lots to see and do.

Lough Ree East Camping
Relaxed and on the edge of the Lough so great for the Kayak.

There are many more but that's three

Melrose 14 miles from me, across the road from the rugby pitch, 3minute walk to co-op, 4 minutes to pubs and main street, enjoy.

Due to being in Middle England, Royal Milton Keynes, ( we are within 3 miles of Woburn Abbey)
1, Houghton Mill, Hertford. Ex CC site, but getting expensive, two nice pubs.
2. Blue Lias, Southham, canal site, only two downfalls, only 1 water point and waste point, Goose droppings.
3. Devises, C and C site, nice walk if you like mountaineering along the canal., 3 Magpies pub alongside with a Cl/CS

We stayed at the CAMC site at Stonehaven, but didn't care for it. Too tightly packed and a very busy area.

Then tried the site at Banchory and that was much better and we'll probably go back again this year.
