Fenwicks Question

We cleaned the outside of the caravan today and because it hasnt been done for a long while, we have fouund the balck sttreaks toi be a bit more stubborn.

Ive always had excellent results with Fenwicks and I noticed on the back it says for stubborn black streaks, a dilution of 10:1 will help. Unfortunately, it didnt so I was wondering about Fenwicks Black Streak Remover which I have never tried before. Im a little hestitant as two caravans back I bought a bottle of Muck Off and it stripped the shine off the side decals.

So, Fenwicks Black Streak Remover, any comments?

Fenwicks have a long history of products for caravans , and they are the products that I use on my van with no ill effects.
The black streak remover does what it says on the bottle with good results.

Yep, never before had any problems with Fenwicks, but what worried me is that the BS Remover is exactly the same colour as Muck Off, and I wonddered whether maybe its something that Fennwicks had bought. Ill get some on Tuesday and give it a whirl.

I used some last July to clear a few streaks after the caravan had been put into store in November 2019 without its Fenwicks Overwinter fluid coating. It worked well. Fetching the van back today and it will get a wash down this week. But normally if it’s had Overwintering on it, the normal Fenwicks removes any streaks, with an occasional gentle application of Silky, although this van seems less susceptible than previous ones.

Another +1 for Fenwick Streak Remover like what someone says we also have Silky if we need it but we use a breathable cover for ours but it came off end of March went for it service .

I use a stronger solution of fenwicks in a garden sprayer on my van, each panel gets a thorough spray all over, left for 10 mins then washed using a large brush and sponge in the usual manner.
Comes up clean as even after Winter.

Kevin

Just pulled out from storage pitch not looking too bad after five months of winter. Some black streaks so will be seeing how normal Fenwicks cleaner does as first move. 17C6C398-1F0B-487C-8BA1-4B5B08E774F5.jpeg9EE65059-D367-4133-92DC-EB33A44DCD95.jpeg

Forget Fenwicks, the best without a shadow of doubt product for removing black streaks is The Pink Stuff paste.
There must be lots of stuff out there that different users favour. It comes down to individual preferences and what works for you. Cannot see why Pink Stuff Paste should be any different to some of the others. I will stick to Fenwicks, a dab of Silky periodically on plastic lockers etc and a very occasional Autoglym polish. They work for me.

Must get on now and drain the water heater of its White Wine Vinegar prior to Puriclens the systems.

Coincidence! Just brought the Wyoming home for a deep clean and a few maintenance jobs. Trying a slightly different approach. Greased Lightning and for the stubborn black streaks faithful Fenwicks. Autoglym super resin polish for aftershocks😋😋

I’ve got a 250 gm pot of Silky to get through. I’ve had it since late 2016 and it’s hardly dented. I might have to wait a long time.

Ditto. I have two pots of my own plus another pot I inherietd when my father packed in caravanning. Probably wont get through that lot and all the other stuff I had foisted on me in a lifetime.

I binned my Fenwick Black streak remover, lots of effort for not so good results
I used Super Resin polish but then decided against "Over use" so as a result raided the kitchen cupboard looking for a lazy solution to removing deep black streaks, I even mixed my own concoction. Then my daughter said that a TV cleaning program had praised The Pink Stuff, so bought a tub.
In true karate kid style, wax on, wax off, black streaks gone, no effort at all, gob smacked.

I don’t disbelieve you but when I read the Pink Stuff is great for cleaning BBQs, ovens saucepans etc I wonder if it is just a little too strong for my micron thick Bailey paint🤔🤔

Any black streaks I had today mostly came off using Fenwicks Caravan Cleaner as they must have been embedded in the Bobby Dazzler and Overwintering coats. What slight ones remained came off with Fenwicks Black Streak remover and a microfibre cloth. Didn’t even need to use Silky.
