Ferry crossings

Hi,just trying to sort out 2 weeks in August to France.Ferry seems to be the main hurdle at moment.Looked at bargain ? online sites but just getting more confused.

Any ideas of cost etc much appreciated.

If you're towing then it's almost always best to book directly with the ferry company, or through the Caravan Club, or Caravanning and Camping Club. The 'cheap deals' ferry operators don't seem to cater for caravanners.

Norfolk Lines were doing some good deals, recently, and I did read about someone who had booked with LD Lines from Ramsgate to Ostend for a very reasonable price.

The best time to book a ferry is either late September/October (for the following year) or February - often offers are announced for caravanners, to coincide with the various caravan shows. We booked in October last year, for car and caravan at
 
Which port did you wish to sail from and to?

With Caravan Club - they may still have the special Norfolk Line deal on where if you sail out on a Sunday or back in on a Friday that leg of the crossing would be
 
You do not mention which port you hope to use. If it is Dover then there is a considerable choice, even Eurotunnel and a variety of prices. If it is one of the other ports then prices may be much higher in peak season. As Val mentions to get the cheapest prices booking well in advance usually works, however, you can also get a last minute deal, but of course that is pot luck.
 
Thanks to all....Priced all & every which way online,Dunkirk does seem to be caravan friendly .Decided to go with Norfolk line both ways.Costing for 2 adults 1 child 12m jeep + caravan.with not too bad sailing times @
