We've just booked Brittany Ferries Portsmouth to Santander direct with BF as the Caravan Club "special members price" turned out to be £200 more expensive...the operator suggested alternative dates/times/cabin combinations (we are travelling with pet) and found us the cheapest deal which was less then their website price!
Good deals are there if you look for them.
Ps chose longer route via ferry as only one driver plus fuel/site/stopoffs/time made this option in effect better value.

IMO if you are travelling to Western France Brittany Ferries is a Great Option. Having sailed with them many times for our family it is part of the Holiday. Large Ships, Good Restaurants, Friendly Staff, Great Cabins; I could go on. Worth Every Penny and More. The Holiday starts the minute we roll on to the Quayside at Portsmouth. I appreciate it costs more money and there are alternatives so ultimately it is up to the individual.
