Thanks for those measurements John - hope you didn't get too wet!!

Do you find the 2.8m canopy a good size or would it be better to go for the larger 3.6m?

May be easier to roll up the smaller canopy although Kevin seemed to manage his ok.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi again Janet and Happy New Year

The 2.8m canopy is a bit bigger that the Ventura porch and just big enough for 4 people to dine in comfort.

I would go for a bigger one but as I have to roll it up on my own I couldn't manage anything bigger.

Kevin has help as most people would

There is another canopy that was featured in Caravan mag that winds up like the motor home ones.

Fiamma also do a "Zip" that winds up for motor homes and I intend looking at both options at N E C in Feb (27th time we will have been to it!!)

We met an elderly couple on the M6T services with an Indiana.

They had the 4m Fiamma Caravanstore but always got help from bystanders to roll it up.

Thanks John - my hubby is 6ft 4" tall (and fast approaching 40!) so I suppose with my help we should be able to manage the 3.6m canopy.

Had a quick look at the Omnistor which looks very good.

Thanks again for all your help.

Yes Kevin - I am always told to "go and make a cup of tea" and stay well away when hubby is dealing with the awning!!! Must be a man thing!!

Anyhow, can you manage the 3.6m canopy easily enough and how do you find this size?

Hi Janet, it is a man thing hunter gatherer, roof over head stuff, anyway

the awning, for the size of caravan we have 3.6m is a comfotable fit as any larger we would be staring to use the slope at the front of the van.

We have only used it once, however for what we use it for

Winter get in out of the weather its huge for that

Summer 2 arm chairs and table, storage of bbq and enough room to move about it will be big enough

if you are getting a baily which i think i read you may very well be able to go for the larger one 4m as the new baily range dont slope at the front until the downwards slope for the front unlike others.

Mine slopes graduly for about 2/3 foot before the fall away at the front if that makes sense

any more info give us a shout

Thanks Kevin - the 3.6m size sounds about right for us as well. We are getting another Bailey caravan so as you say we could probably go for the 4m canopy, although I would be worried about us managing that size.

Do the Fiammas need less pegging down than the normal awnings?

A lot less

8 pegs on the sides and I usually only peg the front in high winds

Its vital to peg and guy the front legs or the canopy will blow onto the van roof

Been there done that !!
