Fiamma door frame lock

Quietly (not really) tearing my hair out. Bought a security door lock - one that bolts to the outside and svivels over the door when locked. Got it home to find I couldn't fit it as the cupboards etc go right up to the door on the inside so you cannot get the fixing bolts through. Phoned my friendly supplier and they swapped it for a door frame lock9better more expensive model at no extra cost to 🙂)

But trying to fit I notice that there is insufficient space between door and frame to fit it- if I fit it I won't be able to close the door. What do I do now??

Help

I had the same problem.

I used an angle grinder to take off some thickness on the fixing flange to allow room for the door to close.

Take a bit off at a time, and just wide enough to fit the frame.

Then fit as normal.

Should have added.take the material off the mating face of the flange, not the countersunk screw hole side
