The fire (Carver 4000 Fanmaster) in our 1999 Avondale Rialto 550-4 will work on gas with no problem, but we have lost the blown air/electric side of it, Does anyone know of a test we could use to test the PCB behind the fire please.

Thanks,

Jeff.

Are you saying nothing works on the electric side? or just the fan?

The most common problem is with the slide switch control, are all the lights glowing brightly and only one at a time?

To answer your question and taking pin one to be next to the slide switch connection.

1 variable voltage 3-10v depending on rear slide on switch,

2 12v supply

3 Variable as 1

4 0v (earth)

Any problems, www.arcsystems.biz

Sorry, they are the fan connection voltages,

Hi Jeff, As the gas knob light and ignition is working it proves you have power up to the back of the main control box.

I've just checked a working unit and there is a permanant 0.163v on pins 1,2,3, (red, black & blue), of the slide switch loom. When switched on pins 4,5,6, (white, brown & yellow,) have varied voltages up to about 3.5V depending on setting. I've not got a duff switch I can test but I'd expect your's to show nothing on these last three but the first three will be the same at or very near 0.163v.

If I'm right then it looks likely the switch is faulty and will need repair which leads us to your last question.

I'm actually worldwide but much as I'd like, sadly unable to come in person, luckily though my postman Colin is a good intermediary!
