First awning purchase

We are relatively newbie caravaners and are looking to purchase an awning for the first time.

We are considering the Bradcot Classic with easy system.

Can we trouble you good people with your experiences of their aluminium easy system, the Bradcot Classic or tips and hints on erecting an awning in general.

Thanks so much for any advice in advance.....Tina

Hello Tina. Personally I wouldn't recommend alloy poles. I would go for the fibregass option. In Spain last year we had two separate weeks of high winds. Two friends had Bradcot awnings with alloy poles, another had a Dorema, again with alloy poles. All three awnings collapsed with bent/broken poles. Our awning was intact (Isabella with fibreglass poles!)

Like you, we were new to caravanning last year. We bought a Bradcott Classic and found it very easy to use. So much so that we've also now bought a Bradcott porch awning too! The Classic is easy to erect - we had a good look at the awning and the instructions at home before erecting it on site and this definitely helped. We also took the advice of the caravan dealer we got the awning from as regards what size we needed for our caravan - it turned out to be a different one to what we would have thought from measurements of the caravan.Good luck! Pam

Hi Tina.

We purchased the awning that you are looking at purchasing, it was recommended by a fellow caravaner when we was on site in Horsley, the new model has a lot of changes from the one they had, but what a difference a lot easier than their's to put up but for the better, have a good chat with your local dealer on how to erect it, it helped us the first time.

Hi Tina.

I have used a Brdcot awnning for three years, at approx 8-10 times a year, I have the quick erect frame and find it vert easy to put up, only three parts. Isabella fibre frames are ok but you need a second mortgauge to get one
