First time in France?

We want to hear from anyone who ventured to France this summer for the first time this year.

We want to know what you thought of it. Were you apprehensive about touring abroad? Was it easier than you thought it would be? How did you manage with the ferry? What did you think of the sites? What was it like driving on the 'wrong side'? Were there any nasty surprises? Will you be going back? What's the best tip you'd give for others planning a trip to France?

Our first venture into France with our tourer went very well.

We did it the safe but probably boring way for your purposes I suspect. We used the Caravan Club's services for the whole holiday - ferries, campsites and even insurance!

Next year we'd like to be more independent and individual, so I'm looking forward to some good ideas from other folk in answer to your post.
