First time to France

Looking for some help as i am driving to france in July for the first time.
I was wondering what i need to do or get for driving.
I am not taking the caravan.

we take warning triangle bulb set ,a fluoresent vest for each person,make sure tyres etc are good and car serviced,breakdown insurance.Map bookand satnav.We arrange cheapish phone deal as well to talk to kids,headlamp adjusters can't think of much else but others may add to list

Make sure yellow vests are in the car within easy reach not in the boot as you can be fined by police if not in easy reach

Take a look at the two sites above. We have been to France a couple of times now, Portsmouth to St. Malo, down to the Vendee and could not believe how much quieter on the roads than it is here. Not hardly surprising given the size of France though. We saw more traffic between Portsmouth and the A34 than we did in the whole of France.

Just to clarify, while it's sensible to have them, a First Aid Kit & spare bulbs aren't compulsory (despite what the shops at the ports & on the boats say)

..........it is also advisable to carry a spare set of spectacles if you need them for driving.
If your only set gets broken you cannot legally drive your vehicle.
