The C&CC site at Winchcombe springs to mind. Plenty of fishing to be had there!
Wendy, I was there last year over a Bank Holiday and I never saw a fish caught or a sign of movement from fish. I dont know about the small pool thats not much bigger than a puddle though because I never saw anyone fishing it.

I don't know whereabouts you are or how far you want to travel but theres 3 local to myself.

Although its only 3 miles from me I've never stayed at this site. All the comments I've heard about it though are positive. You can have a riverside pitch on the banks on the Wye and fish from your pitch, but ask when booking. The Wye contains Chub, Trout, Roach, Dace, Perch, Pike, Gudgeon, Barbel, Grayling and of course Eels. See the reviews at the link below.
