Fitting new shower tray

After 2 long days i have managed to remove the cracked shower tray from my Sterling Eccles Coral. The old tray has 2 pieces of foam taped to the underside which i will remove and put under the new tray but this won,t make the whole tray sit flush on the floor of the caravan , which is why i,m guessing the original has cracked the way it has .

I,m thinking along the lines of using some sort of spray foam when i fit the new tray so there are no gaps underneath . Has anybody else tried this ?Does it work ? and if it does which foam spray did you use ?

Discussing cracked shower trays with a repairer/remoulder while gettig mine redone, I was advised that the foam is designed to allow a bit of 'give' in the shower tray and to stop it cracking due to inflexibility. As my own tray does not have the foam I am not convinced by this, but can see where it is coming from. My own problem arose because the 'hole' for the drain is much bigger than the pipe diameter and this meant part of the tray was unsupported. I remedied this by putting a steel plate under the tray, which initiated said conversation regarding foam underlays with the remoulding Company.
