Ah the bliss of the new pageant bordeaux fixed bed! just one issue, my wife sleeps on the wall side and tends to jiggle about in bed during the night, untucking the bottom sheet. Now i know its a small price to pay for all that jiggling but it really is a nightmare tucking the sheet under the mattress sufficiently to hold in place during the jiggle. Does anybody have any top tips on how to kneel on, reach over, lift the mattress and tuck in the wall side of the sheet without putting your back out? suggestions greatfull appreciated.

We have a fitted sheet on the mattress held in place with clip on elastic trouser braces.

We then have a 2in sponge overlay inside a duvet cover which is pulled taught and pinned underneath.

It never moves but its difficult to get the sponge into the cover after washing etc.

We are thinking of having a single bed size duvet as the bottom sheet with the sponge overlay underneath.

Its getting to "princess and the pea" proportions but very comfortable.

A small price to pay to get jiggy with the wife ;-)
there's no doubt about it mate - the jiggins pretty good and the fixed mattress stops the bed made from bits of seat from coming to pieces - you know what they say - if the vans a rockin, don't come a knockin.

Hi carl

Just read your post and think I could be of help!

I have just started a company selling fitted bed sheets which are made specifically for cut off beds and island beds. If you would like more information please give me a ring on 01524 425502 and ask for Nicky.

You could try using Velcro to hold the sheets in position, a couple of stitches should hold the Velcro in place I would have thought.
