Fixed beds

Can anyone please give me some information on fixed beds in vans, we are looking to buy one, but cant seem to find any under £9000, we only have a small budget, so perhaps an older model would suit us, could someone please suggest make's and models to give us some guidance. many thanks Simon

You have discovered that this year, four berth caravans are as rare as a tax rebate.

Four berth caravans with a fixed bed are even rarer.

Try Caravan Finder. We have a fixed bed, 2000 model Swift Speedbird, with a door on the 'continental' side, and have been thinking of selling it and upgrading before we both become pensioners, with a much reduced income. We looked on Caravanfinder to find what prices older vans were making, and even the cheapest seems to be around the

As an alternative to a fixed bed model you could look out for a 'van with a double dinette.

This is where there is a dining area at the rear of the van as well as the front.

These models can be easily 'converted' to a fixed bed by the removal of the cushions and the installation of a matress.
