Hi all, hope your all good and enjoying the sites and sounds of spring, well maybe not fully here yet but I can smell it so must be close.
The question is I need to attach a drop down bar next to my caravan door, is this possible and safe and not likely to pull the caravan wall off.
So if it's possible could I do it myself and has anyone done it and can they tell me if theirs anything I should do to increase strength and safety. Thanks for reading

You could fit one of these. I've had one for a few years and it "hasn't pulled the wall down". http://www.fiammastore.com/Fiamma-Security-Products-for-caravans-and-motorhomes/Fiamma-Security-31-and-46-Security-Door-Handle

Hi thanks for replying, I have seen these but presume they are principally for just supporting yourself as u go up the steps and security, I am disabled and my left leg cannot support me fully so I need to use crutches and it's easier if I use one and have something to pull myself up on, I weigh 9.7 stone would it take my pulling weight, thanks for reading

Not sure if any of these would be of help:

https://www.towsure.com/quest-double-step-with-handrail?___store=default&nosto=productpage-nosto-2
My wife has a bit of a mobility problem and it works well for her, I think I paid £26.00 in Go-Outdoors.

Then there is this handle to fit tubular construction steps:
https://www.towsure.com/kampa-double-step-support-handle?gclid=EAIaIQobChMInf-GzKnz2QIV77_tCh0P2gHaEAQYBSABEgJL5fD_BwE

Or this: https://www.leisureoutlet.com/security-handles/caravan-and-motorhome-security/caravans-and-motorhomes/62197-milenco-safety-hand-rail?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI87rwpqvz2QIVVD8bCh1wDgdfEAkYCSABEgIqc_D_BwE

This option is available with twin handles but closing the caravan door could be a bit of a nuisance:

And this for a whopping £1500.00 https://www.motorstep.net/

Thanks for that, I'm buying one of the ones that come out, they said on chat they will take my weight etc so brilliant, not a bad price either, also they say my son can fit it
Took a weight of my mind so can look forward to going away now safely, was quoted 150 by local caravan company to fit it, that's on top of the price, you take for granted being able bodied until you aren't have a good time caravaning

Hi I ended up buying the extra large milenco one, it arrived Saturday and looks great, my son's going to fix it on for me this week, might even do a video of it being fitted because I haven't found one yet that show's it being done.
Thanks for taking the time to post and give advice

I will definitely do it as I'm sure it will be useful for others maybe struggling to get in and out of their vans due to disability, I will have to work out how to upload it to maybe YouTube when it's done, will let you know when it's done, thanks again for your help
