Flag Pole?

.....and yet another question!
Thinking about getting a 5m lightweight flagpole and stake to put up outside as many others do.
To keep it vertical is there a special technique, or just tie it to the caravan / awning?

You probably won't keep it entirely straight but we put another of the fibreglass poles next to the one the pole is slid over the top of and then just bungee them together for extra stability. Ours is only about 3 metres, just enough for the windsocks.

Make two clamps each having two U bolts one large and one smaller. Larger one sized to fit over jockey wheel tube, smaller to fit mast/pole. Fit one on top of A frame cover and the other just above the wheel. Also useful for holding wifi boosters etc. Easy to find various size U bolts on ebay.

When I put my fibreglass flagpole up I drive a round hardwood pole stabiliser into the ground, fit the pole over it and anchor the pole to the raised jockey wheel with bungee cords. Foam pipe lagging prevents the pole from damaging the A frame fairing.
Some sites prohibit the use of flagpoles so check first. 😉

The caravan is a t/a with heavy duty corner steadies so while generally speaking I'd agree that the jockey wheel is normally left down the caravan sits perfectly happily on it's main wheels with the corner steadies down after the caravan is levelled up using the jockey wheel.
