Flat screen tv

Can someone tell me if an ordinary household lcd portable tele will work off the 12 volt battery supply in a caravan as it appears to be operated on the shelf in the shop on a 12v supply via a step down apaptor. Secondly, can I apapt my sky digibox to run off the 12v battery as I would like to be completely independent of mains hook-ups on site. Any suggestions please

Your quickest and safest way would be to use a 12V inverter which gives a 240volt output. I guess that a 150 watt version should run the two OK.

An inverter will do the job but it does have conversion losses. Some caravanners have powered their tv etc directly from 12v, it depends how well the device will cope with voltage fluctuations, 9-15v is typical for a nominal 12v system!

The supplied voltage adaptor will be a stabilised voltage.
