Yes its another silly question! Could anyone please tell us where the drain taps are to empty the hot water tank and central heating tank on our 2003 Fleetwood Heritage 640 ES."HIMSELF"has consulted the manual but cant find out where the drainage points are. I know what you must be thinking "why dont they stick to something less technical" (like a pop-up tent!!!!)I really dont know how we would manage without this site.It is a good job ONE of us can use a lap top!!!

Hi

Not sure if they are alike but on our 2007 640CB, the aldi boiler drain tap is in the pipeline near to the actual boiler. I think it has a either a blue or yellow lever that needs to be lifted to its vertical position. Open the taps and shower, switch off the water pump and the hot water system will drain away onto the ground.

The central heating is drained by removing the stopper from a length of hose that protudes through the floor. Ours is at the very rear of the van.

Why do you want to drain the heating system? It should be filled with a water / antifreeze solution that should be left in, it will also prevent corrosion to the system' internals.

OH BIG AL!!!what a good job you are there.HIMSELF is proper confuddled by our new toy!! You will be relieved to hear that HIMSELF will not be draining the heating tank, just testing the antifreeze level and topping up.Is this the right action? Please can you tell us how to empty the flushing cistern on the loo? We really should have taken advantage of the dealers offer to demonstrate the systems!! We just thought HOW HARD CAN IT BE we have had a caravan for years. What a difference a decade makes, van and people too!

A very grateful

Hi "Far To Go"

To check the antifreeze strength Himself will need to test the fluid in the haeder reseviour in the wardrobe. Top up with 50/50 antifreeze / water if it is much below the max mark.

Shouldn't really admit to this but if you cannot get an antifreeze tester you can do what we used to do in the motor trade and "insert a finger into the fluid and lick it. DO NOT SWALLOW. the fluid of correct strength will have a sweetish taste.

The toilet flush tank.....What a **** up by its makers. Flush away the contents into the toilet bowl and then into the waste cassette for disposal. The remainder must be drained by removing the grey plug from the tank inside the external trap door. Very messy cos it will run all over the inside of the compartment and then onto the bathroom floor. Did say it was a **** up by Thet****. Not to mention a waste of pink fluid.

Regards
