if neon fails will my 12vlt charge system still work,is the problem major ie over voltage or over current,

do neon indicators only use minimal volts/current

Hi Haydn,

The neon light is connected to the 230V side of the system, and is only an indication that the charger is receiving power.

If the neon light failed, your 12V system (including the charger) would still be operational.

I hope that helps.

thank you ash

a contact i made today is Mr Shaun northcliff of Bonus electrical Hull. this co took over cec plug in systems. Tel 01482 580077

for various esm 2000 chargers there are two or three types of indicator. mine is not a neon as it turns out. It is an illuminated 12volt on/off switch made/supplied by UNIPART. The type you find in car dash boards of an earlier vintage. I am waiting for full details from Shaun. Hope any others with cec plug in systems equipment find this of use. Haydn
