Flowjet r3426-500 pump problem

Hi I know there are lots of issues with this pump pulsating, which I have had over the years on my 2008 Ace caravan, but I've now got a problem where it switches on and doesn't turn off, sometimes comes on in the middle of the night fairly quietly and runs until you get up and switch it off. any idea's on what the problem is and how to fix it, also did they replace this pump with a different model to solve all the problems, I would like to fix the pump, but if I need a new one I don't want to buy the same pump again with all the issues! many thanks in advance to all that reply!

Do you have an adjustable pressure switch? That may need a tweek. Also, we switch our pump off overnight in any case, because as the hot water cools then the pressure in the system reduces and the pump starts.

This is an on board pump so not sure it has a pressure switch but if so it is a small valve with a rotary adjustment on the piping somewhere near the pump. The only time we had this sort of problem with this style of pump was due to a leak but if nothing is dripping from under the caravan then that should not be a problem.
If you do replace the pump with another make then make sure it has the same power rating.

possible pressure switch on the bottom, but not sure, as you can't see it unless you un screw the pump. not even sure it's the problem , which is why I've put it up on here to see if anyone else has had the same problem! we do turn it off at night for the same reason as you!

If it has a pressure switch on the bottom, would you lower or in cress it, we have alway's had splutter from it, but when using the shower it has poor pressure. Never sure why caravan manufactures changed from the outside pump , which always worked fine

The pressure switch can be adjusted by a 1/4 turn either way. Turning it clockwise will increase the pressure in the system, before the pump turns off, and turning it anti-clockwise will decrease the pressure in the system. It is hard to access but I think you know where it is.

Clearly this pump has worked ok for a number of years so I am wondering if the diaphragm has punctured or just got weak with age.

Repair kits are available . Worth a try before you splash out on a new one.

Suffolk Punch I have just had a FloJet pump fail on our van and replaced it with a sureflo pumpI have just looked at the box mine came in and I cant find a model number . I have been advised the Sureflo pump does have air lock issues so to begin with make sure you bleed the system properly when you set up. Secondly if you have found the switch with the rotary wheel on this could be the pressure switch(possibly blue with a white rotary wheel) and Im not sure which way to adjust it.I hope this will overcome your problem

I think I've fixed it, the filter was facing forward not upright, also took it to bits and cleaned it, it's like a different pump, much more quiet and more power

My flojet on board pump run's on it's own if I'm low on water in the water butt, fill it up and it stops running,
