Fogged Windows

Hi.

We own a 2009 Senator California and on our first trip away this year we found that the 3 front windows had a mist patch between the panels, this would start from early evening and last until mid morning.

When I asked the dealer about this he told me that it was a normal occurrence when the weather cools in the evening.

Can anybody tell me if this information is correct or have I got a problem with all 3 windows.

Yes this is a common thing.

Caravan windwows are not hermetically sealed like domestic windows.

You can remove the small bungs found inside at the top of each window and allow the moist air to escape.

Best to do this on a warm sunny day and replace the bungs before it starts cooling in the afternoon

have tried to pull plug out on our indiana with long nose pliers on the little tag inside the plug but sadly it has broken off.Is there a trade secret to getting the plug out?

It is quite common. Remenber your van has been 'parked' for the winter with no heat on inside so it has cooled signficantly. On your 1st trip you put on the heating, and even your presence has caused a rapid heat rise inside and the van will take a little while to equilibrate. I hade the same 'issue' on the 1st trip this year, but by the end of a few days the 'fogginess' has diminshed significantly. Again, like you it was the front window that showed virtually all the fog.

Funnily enough we have just come back from a trip away with our S7 Pagent and had exactly the same thing happen,so glad you raised the point, as was about to ring our dealer!

This was the forth time out this year and only just happended.
