For the Attention of PLOTTER

Sir as a prosepective driving instructor I would like to partake of your knowledge of the highway. On certain directional road signs are either yellow squares with black infill smaller squares or black infill triangles. I have asked a few neighnours what they meant but as yet have not had a satisfactory reply - CAN YOU HELP.

Taffy

I do believe that plott's is having a little trouble on the posting front and your answer maybe somewhat delayed.

Anybody else know what they are supposed to mean - some one told me it was a marking for holiday route traffic but where I have seen them is not really suitable for holiday makers - industrial areas, etc.

colin,

just looked in the highway code and the only signs in there like you mention are described as 'symbols showing emergency diversion route for motorway and other main road traffic'

mark.
