Ford Explorer

I am considering buying a ford explorer as a tow vehicle for my caravan. any info regarding the suitability of the explorer would be appreciated.

Ford Explorer is a brilliant car. The rear self levelling is superb. the five speed automatic gear box is very smooth. Tons of power out of the four litre V6 engine. Allegedly, we might, of had our twin axle of approx 1 and a half tons on an up hill stretch with a slow moving lane, we had that much power, passed everything going up hill with ease. Comfortable relaxed cruising with cruise control great on long run. Imagine it would tow any caravan out there. 4 wheel drive easy to select. Only draw back is no more that 20mpg. A Lot of vehicle for a small amount of money. Sorry we sold ours! Had one for about 3 years, apart from routine servicing never let us down. Had the car up to the axles in snow, no problems. Just sorry that Ford dont bring any new ones into the country. Not found a car that will equally replace it since for the money.
