Ford Maverick.

Hi All. Iv'e just bought a 94 Maverick 2.8 TD LWB that was traded in to the garage where I work. Too good a deal to turn down. Anybody got one and if so what do you think of them as a tug. Nigel

On my second Nigel, brilliant tow cars, being in the car trade I bought both of mine though work.

First was an ex demo 97P plate TD with square lights but replaced it with a px 97R round lights TDI,bit higher bhp, which was just a year old with 14k on the clock.

The car has now done 122k and the only major problem was a new fuel pump at 109k.

I tow a 1650kg twin axel with no problems at all and it will hold speed up most hills.

I change the oil three times a year as they like fresh oil and keep an eye on the inner edges of the front tyres, both have worn here first.

We had several in with water in the passenger footwell which most dealers will replace the heater box for (dash out)most likely cause is a blocked drain at the bottom of the heater and is a 2 minute job.

enjoy your Mav

Brian

We have a 97 (P) Maverick 2.7TD, LWB, 7 seats (round lights). Absolutely love it! Best car we've ever had. Tows very well, although ours is sometimes a bit sluggish. Ours has done 118,000 and whilst we've had it (two years) it's had a new iginition and a new clutch. We have it serviced twice a year and its passed both the MOT's we've had with flying colours. Is a bit heavy on fuel consumption, but we can live with that. Pay
