Ford Maxi??

As I no longer subscribe to PCv I'm missing the point of this thread. Are you saying there is no Ford Maxi, but if you Google it Ford's own website says there is such a model. Am I being thick? 🤔

???

If I Google "Ford Maxi" I get no entries for Ford's own website - although there is a Ford Transit which has the maxi tag applied to it.

Sir WC my boy.
Yes. You ARE being thick or winding us up.
The picture shows an orange Austin Maxi. Made at Longbridge Birmingham it was a 5 door hatchback with I think a 5 speed gear box.
Ford NEVER made a Maxi.

Point of order - despite being badged Austin, the Maxi was built by Morris at Cowley.

It was way ahead of it's time but like all BMC/BL designs it had poor product development and was a flawed gem.

The engines and gearboxes were made at Cofton Hackett Longbridge and some body pnels at Pressed Steel Fisher Swindon.
Agreed you are correct that Cowley was the producing factory.

The photo in the magazine is an orange Austin Maxi.
The pictures you have posted are of vehicles in Malaysia probably made in some Ford outpost in Thailand or wherever. Not European!

Maybe it's time to subscribe to the PCv again 😉

Ford 105e Anglia maxi , na . Ford kA maxi , na . Ford focus maxi , na again . etc etc . But I did notice a Austin maxi body with a Ford 1600e Cortina roof on it in the pictures supplied by the gentleman WC .
