I am considering buying the above car to tow my 2004 Buccaneer Elan 14. The caravan has a MTPLM of 1400Kgs. Any ideas if this car is up to the job, particularly interested if you own a Mondeo with a 2.0Ltr diesel engine(130).
Thanks guys and yes i agree with Joby my original question was directed at the 2.0 TDCI.Any more comments welcome.Sorry petrol heads!!!i think some of you have your wires crossed here ,the old Mondeo is a completley differnt machine to the new common rail diesel ,the 136 BHP is a petrol unit and is much lighter ,the 130 BHP TDCI Estate is Diesel producing maximum torque at 1800 RPM ,and weighs in at 1550 Kg ,i also own a Nissan Terrano which i only use during the winter ,i get a lot more acceleration from the mondeo TDCI ,the Terrano is allways a gear behind and doing more revs ,its quite sluggish solo and probably due to its weight
