Ford Mondeo tdci 2.0 130bhp v.115bhp 2005 model

Hi Folks

I am trying to convince my friend who wants to buy a Mondeo to tow his 1998 Sterling caravan weight 1300kgs, that the 130 bhp model would be a better buy than the 115 bhp.Does anyone else agree with that view and if so would appreciate your comments?

Thanks

Can't comment on the 115hp, but used to tow my Pageant (1319Kg) with a 130hp hatchback. Power wise it was excellent. I never needed to change down a gear on anything other tahn steep hills. Pulling away from junctions, roundabouts etc caused no hairy moments.

Despite this I wasn't really happy with it when towing, due to the rear suspension being a bit soft. I know I could have modified the suspension but I decided to change the car for something with a stiffer rear end.

Hope this helps.
