Ford S-Max Kerbweight

Could anyone tell me the actual kerbweight of a 2.0Tdci or 2.5 petrol S-Max. I can get Fords printed figures (which from experience are far from accurate on other models)but wondered if anyone had actually been to a weighbridge. Many thanks.....Mike

Hi Mike,

You may not get a satisfactory answer. Production, trim and specification differences mean that you can see a 100 kg or more variation between identically engined models.

But at least the printed kerb-weight should be the lightest possible weight for a basic specification car, fuelled and ballasted as per the small print - but if you have plans to buy a model with more options - not least 25 to 40 kg of tow-bar - then it will always be an underestimate.

Like Robert says, even if you found someone who has been on a weighbridge, their figure would not necessarily be representative for your particular car. On the other hand, do you really need to know the kerbweight to such accuracy? 50kg either way is not going to make much of a difference to your weight ratio.
