Dear Lord Braykewynde,

"Didn't Jewummy Clarkthun go to the same public school as Jonafun Woth and Wuthul Bwant?"

In Ross's case, no - he and his brother went to Leyton County Grammar School in London - I know because I was a prefect when young Ross was a first year.

No one has mentioned the Production Companies for BBC TV and Radio programs.

A lot of so called BBC stars now produce their own prog's for the BBC I'm lead to beleive. At the end of BBC radio progs I listen to you hear about the progem being a Dirtbox Production for etc etc. or something like that.

I guess that the acts get paid by the BBC and then their production company gets paid for producing it as well.

"BBC to pay cancellation costs on Jonathan Ross showsTara Conlan

guardian.co.uk, Friday October 31 2008 17.43 GMT

Article history

The BBC is to pay cancellation costs to Jonathan Ross's independent production company Hot Sauce following the presenter's suspension.

And the corporation said it will "ensure that the company's staff dedicated to the programme do not suffer".

Hot Sauce makes Friday Night with Jonathan Ross and his Radio 2 show. It is not known what costs Hot Sauce has already incurred.

Ross's film review show Film 2008 is made in-house by the BBC.

Sources on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross said around 30 people were due to work for Hot Sauce on the recording of the show that was cancelled on Wednesday.

In addition, a BBC studio had been hired, along with specialist high definition filming equipment.

A BBC spokesman said: "There can be no question of Jonathan benefiting financially from any arrangement to cover Hot Sauce's relevant production costs.

"In any contract that's cancelled in circumstances like this, the BBC would expect to pay for costs already contractually committed by Hot Sauce, as well as ensuring that the company's staff dedicated to the programme do not suffer."

I don't see how Ross is not benefitting if Hot Sauce is his company and are getting compensated for his actions. To me it seems like more New Labour waffle.

I can't remember the exact cases, but in those days prefects were allowed to cane transgressors - so there's a faint possibility of that, and it might have been me...

Likewise first years fagging for 6th formers and prefects - you can make your own jokes up about that :)

Jonathan Ross show cancelled then.

So, everybody got their wish. I'm sure some people feel very smug. Now we hear about the fall out. Lots of other people now suffer who work producing the programme. When people clamour for his head they do not see a human side to it, only JR the 'TV personality'. I am quite sure there are millions of people (as was me) who's friday night was not what it should have been as I was denied the pleasure of that programme. It is MY pleasure to watch. Nobody else has a right to want it off, only not to watch it.

Why is everybody so angry? Its like you all have 'life rage'. A bit like 'road rage' where everybody is overreacting. Just chill out and stop hating stuff.

sighs.....

as for jono well is there no other important news to distract us like the US electing a black muslim president no it cant be that, thats a good thing so it must be something else.

the stunt was broadcast on radio 2 with about 20 listernes

tuned in no of complaints 3 put it into the media 5000 complaints thats 4980 more than actually heard it live.

says more about the press and media than about the antics of a couple of morons on radio 2 come back jeremy beadle now there was real joker, oh he can't can he sorry,

As I live in France my days do not revolve around BBC TV schedules.

But if a non show of J Ross or Clarkson or some other TV show were a troubling loss to my days I think I would be finding a high cliff to jump off or take a lot of pills and a bottle of scotch and bow out!

"millions of people (as was me) who's Friday night was not what it should have been as I was denied the pleasure of that programme"

Millions must have a different definition of pleasure than my wife and I. A lovely dinner and an early night is pleasure, or a moonlit swim;-)

I'm sorry but kiddy like sniggering about sexual antics are not exactly funny and show little respect for the upposite sex or peoples sexual partners.

It's no wonder that so many relationships flounder with the crude tittle tattle and risque inuendo that has become acceptable to some as humour and part of general conversation.

Who Russel Brand has sex with or who Ross would like to have sex with or who any celeb is rutting with is for their pleasure and of no interest to me and millions of other respectable people and their families I would hope.

If pleasure levels are now judged by who is on or not and the telly it must be time that millions of people reassessed their lives and got out of their homes more often.

Well posted Euro.

Like you said, if I'm denied the pleasure of a TV programme which makes my Friday go t*ts up I think I might go see a shrink as I posted earlier ;O)

I'm now beginning to realise how, through the stormy seas of life, I've managed to stay sane with my full faculties intact ... heh! heh! heh!

Quote IAN....."Lots of other people now suffer who work producing the programme. When people clamour for his head they do not see a human side to it, only JR the 'TV personality'.

I bet the liberal left were saying the same about the workers at the Krupps Armaments factories after Hitler lost his job :O)

As I think Ross owns the production company it's his own fault if his staff suffer, but then again the soft wets at the BBC say they will be paying compensation!

As a Multi Millionaire performer who screwed up he's not such a charminng pleasant person if he would not put a hand in to the Ross coffers and compensate the production company himself.

The BBC should claim any compensation it thinks it should pay from Ross and Brand.

Martin - Don't you think that it was just a tad insensitive of the BBC to show the program before the watershed and so close to the anniversary of the murders of the prostitutes in Ipswich committed by Steve Wright an ex HGV driver ?

Did you realise yourself that it was the anniversary or did that all fall into place when it was mentioned by someone else.

Does it matter if bill realised it or not?

I'm sure the family of the murdered prostitutes noticed it so isn't that what should matter?

I am not a big clarkson fan, but keep hearing people moan about the money he is paid,or"they pay his wages" yap yap yap.

Actually he pays more to the BBC than a few thousand of us added together!

He may make the show for the BBC, but they sell it all over the world,in doing so they recoup bucket loads of cash!

So in another way, you could thank him,for being a positive contributor to the BBC,leaving them more cash for the sort of things that others want to watch.!!

On what Fact do you make this statement ???

The BBC is a Public Service Broadcaster, not a Commercial Company.

I have no wish to supply my Cash ( in advance ) for Commercial Ventures, I do that with Sky. I am FORCED to pay for the BBC even though technology exsists to prevent me from obtaining the signal

Gumbo.

The BBC has been selling its programmes abroad for many many years.

Indeed I am astonished that you never knew that!

What did you think, they just gave their programmes away to other countries?

They make documentaries,Films, and entertainment programmes that go all over the world!

As for technology! So you never ever watch BBC1,2,3 OR 4 on your sky box! Or do you believe your Sky monthly subs covers that, cuzz they don't.

"he should be sacked like brand and ross"

Just as well Georgina Ballie doesn't share your view then. Did anyone see the documentary on the TV? It was called "Russell and Ross: What the F*** was all that about then?" in which they described the events from the start and even interviewed Ballie. She said that while Russel and Ross shouldn't have done what they did, she has no wish to see them sacked because they are very talented entertainers. The blame was laid well and truly with the Daily Mail who simply hate the BBC.

Nuff said?

Sorry Gary, it's not a case of the Mail hating the BBC, other papers like their arch rivals, the Express, also printed adverse comments about the pair. The comments aren't aimed at the BBC but the politically correct morons who run it and rightly so.

Regarding the "talent" comment could someone show me where any of them possess it.

So you never ever watch BBC1,2,3 OR 4 on your sky box! Yes I do, You missed the point. You are forced to Pay for it even if you don't want to watch it ?? It could be pay as you go, the Technology is here today.

Legs it don't matter that the Ballie family have forgiven Ross and co. People complained because of the Content Not at Who it was Directed. It was using a medium that we all pay for if they want to indulge in the kind of humour do it in a Private Club or on Pay TV.

I believe people are letting their own hostilities towards certain aspects of society get the better of them.

The Brand show was a pre recorded show! has that not yet sank in ?

The very point of it, is that they [the BBC] can control the content! Its not like they have some script to follow, its all about instant reactions and the humour that should come from this inter action.

Because it involves spontaneity, sure things can go wrong, and that's why they have a supposedly safety net.

Clearly it failed, and that is where the blame lies, not with ross or brand, they were doing exactly what they are paid to do!

Any rational person can see exactly where the blame lies, and its with the BBC,who have absolute control of any pre recorded programme!

"Sorry Gary, it's not a case of the Mail hating the BBC"

Did you actually watch the documentary, LB? What they said in that documentary about why the Mail hates the BBC made perfect sense.

"People complained because of the Content Not at Who it was Directed"

Yes, but it was fuelled by the Mail a whole week AFTER the show was aired which until then, the BBC had only received 2 complaints. When Brand made his public apology, he made a comment regarding the Mail and how it took them a week to start this, also making a comment about how it's funny a paper who supported Hitler (it's true) started it. This made the Mail more angry and so they pursued the issue.

When Brand recorded his resignation, he did so with a picture of Stalin on the wall behind him. Another dig at the Mail!! LMAO!!
