In its early days it was an informative and interesting programme when the likes of William Woollard used to present it.I'm no fan of Clarkson, to me him and his sidekicks are overpaid privately educated immature yobs which is par for the course in the media in general and the BBC in particular.
Having said that, as an ex HGV driver although I thought that his remarks were ill judged (timing wise) and as stereotypical as everything else that Clarkson says at least he didn't use bad language or bully any individual.
I understand that the RHA amongst others have complained to the BBC about Clarksons remarks but my guess is that most lorry drivers have thicker skins than to be 'offended' by such peurile remarks and most would find them funny.
The payback was when the idiot crashed the tractor unit through the brick wall and ended up in agony.
I'd say that as a nation we need to lighten up a little and anyone who regards Top Gear as anything but comedy is missing the point. It's not a documentary.
