Would it be possible to have a "Back to Forums" box at the end of all the posts. It takes ages to scroll back to the start if there are 60 or 70 posts. Just a thought!!

Hello Kenneth,

perhaps you haven't been a member of this forum for long, if not then welcome to 1700's

I may have the date wrong but in essence the forum engine used here is very old, and it does not have any bells and whistles, yet alone sensible editing and moderation tools.

The site owners Haymarket Publishing had some plans to update the engine, but having fallen on hard times and th update seems to be indefinite hold.

Don't hold your breath in anticipation, because it will probably evolve its own ozone hole before the site is modernised.

Hi Kenneth

John is correct, the forum software currently in use is somewhat outdated although I must confess that for me it has a certain quirky charm lol.

To return to the forum topic list simply click on the green return button at the top left of your computer screen or just click on FORUM in the blue box.

I agree with Parksy. Sometimes the technology on other Forums gets me totally confused. In fact I usually give them a miss. With this Forum you type a message and press 'submit'. It either works or it doesn't. Pictures are still a mystery and fortunately those little stupid symbols that seem to be in vogue are absent. You read the Post, understand, contemplate, compose and answer. What could be more simple and practical?

I agree with SL, I'm not keen on some others as they are so busy with symbols, avatars and what have you. It's like being in a conversation where loud music is playing behind you. Can't cope.

BTW shouldn't it be Fora?

No, forii :O)

I prefer this site to ALL the others i visit, only the comment box is surplus in my opinion, while a edit function would be useful, you usually only have a limited time to edit once you have posted.

Ken

The back button on my screen is blue, depends on your defaults, also you may find pressing the home or end key useful.

quite agree about those silly smiling faces etc, every one tries to out do each other, flags waving, little men jumping up and down, very annoying.
