Freelander 2 - towing mirrors

I've been looking at a new Freelander 2. Generally fine, but the gap between the mirror glass and the housing looks quite small. I'm wondering if it will take the mounts for Millenco Grand Aero mirrors. Dealers are a bit reluctant to let me try a clamp onto the morrors of a brand new vehicle I'm not buying.
Anyone have a F2 and use these mirrors ?

Hi ray. We have recently bought a Freelander 2 but not towed with it yet. Never thought about the mirrors not fitting. It is dark and raining just now but tomorrow morning I will dispatch OH to try them. We have Milenco Aero (not grand Aero) but I assume the fittings are the same. I will report back tommorrow.
By the way loving the F2 as a solo car so far.

Hi,
They fit fine. My father has a FL2, and we have fitted the Grand Aero mirrors to the various FL2's we've had at the Tow Car events. Not a problem.

Thanks Mel and Nigel - just what I wanted to hear. I'm at Stage 3 haggle with various dealers at present, so this is one more thing I can cross off the list.

Thanks everyone. I now have the F2 and the mirrors are fine. Not quite so sure abot other things, though. Who needs 'keyless go' - you still have to have the keyfob so it may as well be hanging in the lock. Have now found out how to switch on ignition without actually starting engine.
Beware of the two open 12v sockets in the console between the front seats. They are upward facing with no protection and 'live' once the engine is running. They will accept 1p and 5p UK and 1 2 and 10 Eurocent coins which you may accidentally drop into them (along with other small metallic objects - and cause a short, perhaps with some snap craclke and pop or even smoke. Then you have a choice of three fuseboxes to find andreplace the fuse. The 3.5mm socket for MP3 player and the USB socket are equally unprotected. Yes a short length of insulating tape will solve all these but it does not reflect well on the designer.

Hello Ray
i've had an F2 auto for more than 4 years now, and I love it! Tows really well, using a detachable Witter tow bar , so no holes in the bumper!
there should be 2 push fit plastic covers for the 12 volt sockets to prevent any accidents. If they are not in yours, either agitate with whoever you bought it from, or get some LR spares.

We have a Freelander 2 too and use Milenco Grand Aero towing mirrors without any problems. It's the best tow vehicle we've had and is so comfortable, especially on long journeys.
